BBC's American Pale Ale pours a dark amber with two fingers or an off white head. Retention is pretty long and strong lacing.
Citrus with a little pine in the hop aroma. A subtle caramel malt helps to moderate the hops, though. Obviously a pale ale, but it's not as over the top as some APAs can be.
Taste is similar, with a strong hop taste (in addition to the normal pine and citrus, there is also a slight floral flavor), but only moderate bitterness. Malt is crisp and only sweet enough to take the edge of the hops. A fairly long and lingering aftertaste.
Moderate body with fairly high carbonation. Be careful cracking open this bottle!
Not terribly widely available, this a decent variation on the over-the-top-hops you usually find in an APA. Nothing mind blowing or new, however.
