If you want better than Beck's...
Shouldn't you try a beer that reaches further in smell and taste? This is an improvement to Beck's in the same way having a PB&J without crusts are better than with crusts. Beck's Sapphire is typical "American" beer with one nice refinement, it has a taste that hints at the use of good hops.
This lager from the Beck's St. Louis, Missouri brewery pours a rich gold that is crystal clear with some light carbonation and a thin, white bubbly head that soon turned into a thin film. I inhale. Nothing. I inhale deeply and can pick up a sweet light fruit smell and grass. Taste is mildly bitter, but tongue is more distracted by a sticky sweetness. As I try to ID the flavor, it all evaporates from my tongue and I have to take another sip to figure out the sweet flavor. Corn Pops...Kellogg's Corn Pops. Hmmmmm. The beer is very thin and watery.
