Comments
Not too bitter, not too sweet...
Pours a dark reddish brown, with a half finger of light tan head. Some light lacing, and very little head retention.
Nose is pleasantly malty, with caramel and chocolate aromas, along with some hints of coffee, nuts, and other roasted flavors. Hop aromas are low, and are earthy and floral.
Taste is mostly similar, with a little more hop and roasted flavors balancing out the slightly sweet nose. A quick finish with fairly low bitterness overall.
A medium light body and moderate carbonation.
A nice version of an English Brown Ale, Blackstone's Nut Brown Ale strikes a nice balance between a sweeter dessert-style beer, and a darker, bitter stout or porter.
