Tis the Season!
Dark brown - slightly reddish held up to the light, with a very light tan head.
Lots of winter spices in the nose - clove, nutmeg, along with with a lots of caramel and some slightly darker malt aromas. A bit of bright, piney hoppiness as well.
A nice balance between the earthy spiciness and malt and the brighter hop flavors and bitterness. A medium long aftertaste, with lots of the spices and a bit of the hops sticking around. A bit of alcohol in the finish as well, but it serves the "warming" function well, not being overly assertive or too distracting.
Nicely balanced, but not overly boozy or flavored, the Boulevard Nutcracker is a great beer to keep you warm on a cold winter night.
