Hit and Run Taste Will Inspire Repeat Swallows
I admit it. I'm not a big fan of pale ales. I love my malts and tend to shy away from hops. There are several things I really like about Cack a Lacky.
It pours a pale gold, too dark for corn, with barely a finger thick white head. The foam is nearly gone after a couple of minutes.
I really enjoy the aroma caused by the ginger and grassy hops. The ginger softens up the hops, giving almost dry white wine-like scents.
The hops are a bit stronger on the tongue. What tasting Cack A Lacky is like is the beer hits the tongue and there is a surge of ginger and hops...but all but a very mild aftertaste is left behind as the beer descends the throat.
I tend to enjoy my pale ales as accompaniment to food and only alone when tasting. The problem I usually have is a hoppy aftertaste buildup (unless paired with really fatty foods). This beer would serve me well with its lack of aftertaste and powerful punch of flavor when being drunk.
