Description:
Tap Room No. 21 Copper Lager uses a pilsner-style lager with Manitoba White Clover Honey added to lend a smooth honey flavor. A perfect amount of hops is used to dry out the honey's sweetness while keeping a crisp, dry finish. A delicious, golden amber color, this is a superb tasting, medium-bodied lager. American Lager with Depth?
Pours a clear dark amber (copper colored!) and a half finger head with little retention and light lacing.
The nose is malty - yeast and biscuit. Very subtle hops and a slight fruity aroma. The taste is equally malty and sweet. Very little hops, and a fruity sweetness more prominent than in the nose. Light body and moderate carbonation - feels a bit prickly in the mouth.
Not a very sophisticated or complex beer, but for malt-front lager, you can do much worse. The extra sweetness may make the beer a bit more appealing to those who like a less hoppy or bitter beer flavor.
