For this week's Curious Tuesday we have made a new take on an old favorite. We had our friend over at 1000 Faces Coffee brew us some fresh cold brew (the beans are from Brazil) and let it age in a rye whisky barrel. We then treated some fresh Reclaimed Rye with the barrel aged cold brew to give you a new take on our coffee treated Reclaimed Rye. The result is a subtle coffee flavor and aroma, and delightful oakiness that we think is perfect for this rainy day. Come by and let us know what you think.
Cheers! (Description provided by company)

Why do I always think I'll like these?
Creature Comforts Coffee Infused Reclaimed Rye pours kind of a reddish, ruddy copper. The nose is typical rye IPA, earthy and bright and inviting. The flavor of the coffee comes through loud and clear when you drink it though. Unfortunately, it’s a bit more of the bitter, “bean-y” kind of flavor, not the robust, chocolate, nutty flavors you’d want. In Creature Comforts’ defense, this has been my experience with most coffee infused IPAs (Monday Night’s Eye Patch Ale met a similar fate when it was aged on coffee beans). It just isn’t my cup of coffee, er, tea.
