This brown porter base is loaded with tons of roasted malts giving it a plethora of flavors from coffee to chocolate to toffee. Coconut is added to the boil and to the aging tanks putting a tropical twist on this traditional style. Curlew is a mostly sand island secluded just far enough away from the main Chandeleur Island chain that it is almost untouched. There have been many a coconut found on the surfside of this little piece of heaven. (Description provided by company)

Can-Do Curlew's Coconut Porter
The Curlew's Coconut Porter is nearly black coming out of the can with a dense tan head. This slowly melted to a film which covered the beer the rest of the glass. Not much lacing.
I smell dark chocolate and some coffee, not strong aroma even when it warmed.
Great roast flavors of coffee then chocolate, but there is a light sweetness that comes in and washes most of the dark roast away. Mild roasty aftertaste.
