Description:

This voluminously hopped mutha delivers a hoppy nose and assertive-but-balanced flavors of pale malts and citrusy floral hops from start to finish. Oskar Blues launched its canning ops in 2002, brewing and hand-canning Dale’s Pale Ale in the Lyons, ColoRADo, brewpub. America’s first-craft-canned mountain Pale is a hearty, critically acclaimed trailblazer that changed the way craft beer fiends perceive portable beer. (Description provided by company)

Poured from can into glass - showing a cloudy orange complexion. Smells of weed and citrus. Strong body of malt bitterness which is nearly balanced with the hops. Felt a bit fizzy, but full on the tongue. Gulp-worthy.

Dale's Pale Ale pours a bubbly reddish copper. It smells of citrus hops and a bit of malt. The flavor is well balanced between hops and malt with a slightly dry finish. This is a bright and tasty little ale.

Pours a medium amber with a full and fluffy white head that shows a surprising amount of lacing and sticks around for a bit.

Medium hop aroma, with juicy fruit, citrus, and a touch of pine. The flavor features the hops as well, with a moderate bitterness and strong pine hop flavors - it seems close to IPA levels - but the malt flavors are on the subtle side and really let the hop flavors shine.

If you're a fan of American pine and citrus hop varieties, this is just the pale ale for you, but if you like a more subdued and subtle pale ale, Dale's Pale Ale may be one to pass on.
