Comments
A nice trip south of the border
The XX Amber pours a dark, transparent amber with a half finger of foamy head. The head dissipates quickly and leaves a little lacing.
The nose is disappointingly faint, but consists of malt and yeast with very faint hops. Enjoy your first whiff, since the aromas dissipate too quickly for a second one. Taste is simple and straightforward - a crisp maltiness at the front and with a slight hoppy taste and bitterness at the finish.
A light body, and a moderately-low carbonation. Feels crisper in the mouth than expected from a darker-colored beer. Great for pairing with spicy food, and a much better after-yardwork beer than some of the adjunct lagers that are so popular.
