Let's not talk about the genesis of the name here
Evil Twin's Soft DK is an imperial stout that pours an oily black. In color and viscosity. This beer is thick. It has a thick and sweet molasses smell to it. The flavor is full-bodied, malty and sweet, with some banana flavores and a tint of smokiness thrown in there in the finish. A well balanced stout that doesn't disappoint.
Better than the Name Suggests
Very dark - not only is the beer a pitch black, but the head is a very dark brown brown as well - about the color of milk chocolate.
Despite the dark appearance and 10% ABV, the nose is well balanced and inviting, with some nutty and chocolate aromas, roasted coffee, and a light banana fruitiness. There is a bit more of the darker flavors in the taste, with lots of bitter coffee and herbal hoppiness along with a noticeable (but not 10% noticeable) alcohol finish. This does keep the finish quick and clean, however.
