I was at Rocket City Brewfest and was going down my list of beers. Sure enough, Ballast Point's Pineapple Sculpin was available not far from Sweetwater's tent with Goin' Coastal. I had Pineapple Sculpin and then this beer. Sorry, but Goin' Coastal really pales in comparison.

Goin' Coastal was a light gold with a white head. It smelled of pine with a bit of sweetness which was vaguely pineapple-ish. When I took a drink, it was like 420 but with a little splash of the pineapple.

So, depending on how much you like pineapple in your beer will determine which of these two you prefer. For me, I liked it better when the pineapple was featured along side, if not slightly above, the piney hop traits; thus Ballast Point's Pineapple Sculpin was more enjoyable.
