Bourbon in the Beer!
Pours a medium dark amber with a finger of head that quickly dissipates into a layer of bubbles around the circumference of the glass.
Lots of dark and rich malt - notes of caramel, toffee, and toast along with an oakiness from the Bourbon barrels.
A lot of malt in the taste as well, with a surprising amount of caramel and toffee sweetness and a hint of the oaky smoke from Bourbon, although without the alcohol kick. A moderate finish with some strong hints of oak.
A medium body with lowish carbonation.
Being brewed in Louisville KY should give Goodwood access to some primo bourbon barrels. Their Bourbon Barrel Ale certainly seems like they put them to good use!
