Comments
Nutty and Woody
Pours out a dark, chocolate brown with a full light tan head that recedes from two fingers to about half a finger.
Lots of caramel, chocolate and toffee malt aromas, along with a slight earthy woodiness.
The rich malt flavors continue on into the flavor, with a very subtle and balanced sweetness from the malt with a light char bitterness from the barrels. Not a whole lot of hops, but the barrel char does linger a little bit on the tongue.
Something like a lighter version of a barrel aged stout, the sweeter malt flavors make this a nice introduction into some barrel aged flavors in a very drinkable style.
