Comments
Sweet and smokey
Very dark brown when held up to a bright light, with a pale and light tan head. After settling down the head takes on a nice smooth and creamy appearance.
A nice balance of honey and malty sweetness in the nose with a little bit of a floral and a chocolatey character. The taste is also leaning towards the malty end of the spectrum, with a little bit of dark, roasted bitterness. The burning, woody, bourbon barrel flavors are nicely balanced and strong toward the finish. Otherwise the finish is only medium long and not overly bitter.
A nice tasting beer, although I didn't get much of the ginger flavors. Still pretty good!
