Albert. Able. Gordo. Miss Baker. Bonny. Goliath. Between 1948 and 1961 these primate pioneers and others bravely went where no man had ever gone before, paving the way for manned U.S. spaceflight. This hoppy little monkey of a beer is a tribute to those Simian heroes of yesteryear. It has a citrusy, floral hop aroma, a strong malt body and a crisp finish. (Description provided by company)

Monkeynaut is a blast
Straight to Ale's Monkeynaut pours a dark honey with a thick, rich cream head. Fruity aroma with hints of toffee. Strong body dominated by grapefruit and pine bitterness. Crisp finish. Monkeynaut was very well paired with red beans and rice.
An IPA that delivers
Sampled at a Straight to Ale tour.
Pours an amber-orange, with a very small amount of haze. About a finger's worth of a foamy head sticks around a little while, and leaves nice lacing behind.
The nose is mostly dominated by fruit and citrus from the hops with a subdued roasted maltiness. The taste is similarly dominated by the hops, with a citrus overtone - the malt comes in toward the end, but there is a lingering hoppy bitter aftertaste.
I went ape for it
Straight to Ale's Monkeynaut IPA pours a deep amber color with a dark frothy head. Great hop presence on the nose, nice and citrusy and spicy. The flavor is predictably hop-heavy but not nearly as bitter as I thought. It's a smoothe drinker. Maybe a little less body than I'd prefer, but I think that's the trade off you make for smoothness.
Very good
