Yep!
This is a fantastic refreshing beverage!
Hops hit but don't bludgen you to death
This is me going against my usual beer preferences and having an imperial IPA. I'm not a fan of hops but after the beer class I went through and my desire to go for Cicerone certification...I'm drinking this as homework. ;)
Poppe brought this to me at Straight to Ale's taproom as a 10 oz pour. Slightly on the dark side of gold. Quite clear. Very thin white ring which sticks to the glass some when I drink, but I kinda hesitate to describe this as lacing.
Obviously, my nose is filled with hops when I take a sniff; a mix of pine and citrus. Try as I might, I can't really smell anything other than that.
The taste is pine sap and toast. This is much more balanced in the taste than the smell. The malt adds a nice sweetness to counter the immediate bitterness I get from the hops. Fairly clean finish with just a smidge of a hoppy aftertaste.
