Description:

Each year GUBNA takes on a personality of its own. We seek out the most exciting and best available hops fromeach individual season to create a potent and complex Imperial IPA. GUBNA is packed with Rye and North American Pale Malt and accented with Munich Malt to give a spicy and flavorful backbone to support loads of kettle hops driving the IBUs to triple digits. The 2014 GUBNA Seasonal is dry hopped with copious amounts of Sorachi Ace, Chinook and Mosaic hops creating a dank, dense nose and unique blend of lemon zest, red berries, spice, peach and herbs through a clean bitter finish. Pours a clear golden amber with a full and creamy looking two fingers of an off white head.

A strong, but not aggressive, hop aroma. Fruity, citrus and a bit of a piney aroma are the big players, although there is a lot going on (but in a good way). This aroma, though, is a bit deceptive, as the flavors have no such subtlety. There's a lot of the hop aroma flavors (fruity, pine citrus, and even a touch of melon) here and the bitterness is definitely on the high side (though not harsh). The malts are nice and clean, and a little bit of a caramel character helps to keep this drinkable. A medium long aftertaste, but it has lots of the hoppy character without harshness - nice.

Probably one of my favorite IPAs in recent memory - lots of flavor, an enticing aroma, and an aftertaste that begs for another sip. If you haven't - try Oskar Blues Gubna!
