Pours a deep and dark reddish brown, very slightly translucent if held up to light. A thin off white head, that dissipates in about 30 seconds.

Nose is fruity (primarily banana esters ) with some strong roasted malt aromas (chocolate, nuts). Some subtle alcohol aromas, and darker fruits as well.

Taste is similar, the ester and roasted malt flavors balance very well, and the bitterness is moderately low. Some earthy hop flavors, but most bitterness is from the darker malts.

A medium body and moderate carbonation.

I've not gotten very deep into a lot of good Belgian Saisons, but this one is very good. Bitterness is low, the fruity and roasted flavors balance nicely and the aftertaste is lingering and not overpowering.
