The Poet poured into the glass as liquid darkness with a thin tan head which slowly faded. Smell is a bit subdued with roasted malt and oats. Coffee roast is the focus with the flavor with a smooth kinda-creamy finish. The Poet's mouthfeel is like Jane Mansfield, full-bodied in all the right ways. An enjoyable stout from New Holland.

Pours out a pitch black with a full two and a half fingers of a light tan and bubbly head.

Strong dark roasted malt aromas, with coffee and dark chocolate very strong.

A little bit of an herbal hop flavor, but mostly strong malt aromas, varying from roasted to burnt. Lots of coffee and dark chocolate bitterness, although the aftertaste is a little on the sweeter side.

A medium full body and moderately low carbonation.

Strong, dark stout flavors and a smooth and creamy mouthfeel.
