Pours a clear, deep ruby red, with a full finger of foamy, long lasting head.

Hops aromas are strong - citrus, pine, and some spicy herbal notes dominate. A nice full malt backbone does give some nice depth to the aroma.

The variety of hop flavors are more prominent in taste than in the nose, with a lot of herbal and pine flavors. The citrus notes are a little more subdued. The bitterness is fairly high, and there is a nice subtle alcohol that cuts the aftertaste. The malt is nice and crisp, though the flavors aren't assertive enough to balance out the strong hops.

A medium body and carbonation.

A nice, slightly more malty version of the ubiquitous IPA. The darker malt in Goose Island's Rambler IPA doesn't necessarily balance the strong hop flavors, but it does provide an interesting and different flavor.
