Description:

When we opened our Boston Brewery in 1988, we created a special brew, Boston Ale, to mark the occasion. A “stock” ale with a distinctly American character, we use earthy English hops along with the sweetness of caramel malts, and ferment it as an ale and aged at cool temperatures. Boston Ale pours a clear reddish amber, with a thin head that has little lacing.

The nose is malty, with some mild hoppiness - not much going on. Taste has a malty front, with hops at the finish. Subtle notes of bread, nuttiness, with a very mild aftertaste. Medium body, and below-average carbonation - a pleasant smooth feeling in the mouth.

Nicely balanced, similar to Boston Lager but a very nice change of pace. If you like Boston Lager - give this one a try!
