Description:

Our Nitro Coffee Stout is darkly enticing with its smooth, velvety cream that cascades into a jet black brew revealing a rich, robust character. The dark roasted malts create notes of bittersweet chocolate with hints of dark fruit while the Sumatran & Indian Monsoon Malabar coffees develop a deep roasted dimension. For a deeper, yet smooth, flavor we steep the coffee beans in cold water to create an extraction that we add to this stout. (Description provided by company)

If graded purely on how it looks when you pop this open and the brew morphs from a swarm of beige foam into a black stout, this would be the Supreme Leader of Beers. A few moments after the pour, the black beer has a creamy pinky-thick head that eventually shrinks. Large sheets of lacing cover the glass.

The smell is mild coffee and milk chocolate. It is nothing but smooth.

Smoothness and sweetness are the key traits of the taste. This isn't bitter dark roast coffee with bitter dark chocolate. Nitro Coffee Stout has sugar and cream. The chocolate is milky, not dark. There is a little chalkiness in the taste that keeps catching my attention.

Great show when you pour, but drinking is merely pleasant and not as much of an audience grabber.
