Poured a straw color with a shallow off-white head that disappeared quickly. Slight citrus in the smell and taste - both of which are remarkably similar. Nice crisp finish with a very slight metal aftertaste.

Sampled at a Straight to Ale tour.

Pours a very clear golden color, with a fluffy head. The head dissipated fairly quickly and left very little lacing.

The aroma was that of malt and hops. A little bready, but nothing really memorable. Taste is the same - slightly sweet with a crispness and a very dry finish. Definitely more complex and interesting than many domestic beers (much less domestic light beers!). A much better beer choice after hours of sweaty yardwork than other canned domestics.

Straight To Ale's Sand Island Light House is a German style ale. It pours a bubbly light hazy yellow with a thin layer of head retention. Its nose is malty, a lot like a Pilsner. The flavor is light and refreshing. Light fruit notes give way to a crisp malt finish, with just a hint of bitterness. The mouthfeel is more on the carbonated side, but not overly so. I feel like this is the kind of beer the American macrobreweries want to produce but can't.
