Pours a clear pale gold, with a single finger of white head. Head has moderate retention and light lacing.

Nose is crisp and malts, with a light floral and slightly citrusy hop aroma. A nice and balanced aroma and very pleasing.

Taste is nicely balanced, with the pale malts giving a biscuity and lightly toasty flavor and the earthy herbal and floral hops in the finish. Hop bitterness is fairly low, and the finish is dry with very little aftertaste.

Moderately high carbonation and a fairly light body.

The Scrimshaw is a riff on a Pilsner style ale, and hits most of the big Pilsner marks: light color, a nice crisp and biscuity malt, and flavorful but low in bitterness hops. The hop flavors aren't quite as herbal, but overall a very nice Pilsner style beer.
