Description:

Abita Seersucker Summer Pils is a traditional pilsner with a full bodied malt flavor, hop bitterness and a light golden color. It is made with pilsner and carapils malts, hopped with German Tradition and Spalt hops. This Pils pairs well with seasonal summer favorites like grilled chicken, salmon or garden salads. It also is a refreshing choice with spicier dishes, Mexican food and most Asian cuisines. Try it with a mild white Vermont cheddar, Havarti or Monterey Jack cheese. (Description provided by company)

Seersucker is a golden straw color and clear to see thru with a small white bubbly head that remains as a ring. Lots of lacing. This pils smells of grassy hops and bread. Seersucker's taste is straightforward with a spicy nip. Plenty of grain and hops with that spice. I've had more nuanced and complex, but the flavor of Anita's summer pils is the most enjoyable I've had. Mouth gets a rush of carbonation that fades to a nice smooth delivery of flavor. One of Abita's best, IMO.

Abita's Seersucker Summer Pils pours a hazy gold color with a thick creamy head (though that probably had something to do with the CO2 in the keg being a bit unbalanced). It smells floral and aromatic, inviting on a hot summer day (or in this case, a hot fall one).

The flavor is well-balanced, with a little bit of depth from the malt, some hop crispness, and a bit of a bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is kind of thin, though, so its ability to refresh is hampered. Overall it's a tasty beer. I could have used more body though.
