Description:
St.Bernardus Wit is a traditional Belgian white beer developed and brewed in collaboration with the legendary Master Brewer Pierre Celis. This ale is very pale (whitish-yellow color) and quite hazy. The head is white and dense. In aroma, it has a wheaty, apple-like, tartness; herbal-spicy notes with coriander and orangey fruitness and honeyish sweetness. Very refreshing: perfect thirst quencher! Comments
High expectations, fall a little short
Pours a hazy and translucent gold. Lots of a fluffy white head.
Light, soft wheat malt aromas, a little bit of lemony citrus. Not much of the fruity Belgian yeast aromas that I was hoping for.
Those banana like flavors are more present in the taste, however, along with the crisp wheat. Very light but still with a nice depth. The aftertaste leans pretty hard on the bright, almost harsh, lemon and citrus flavors.
A medium body and moderate carbonation.
Although the finish is a little harsher than I expected, the flavors in Bernardus Wit are still good, and this is still one of the go-to Belgian Wits.
