Cidre is as bad as I feared. It's the same color as apple juice and requires you to shake the bottle or glass to witness any carbonation. The "cider" smells like apples, wax, and floor cleaner. Taste reminded me of Redd's apple ale - apple and yeast. It was flat and dull on my tongue. I think I liked Champale more than this.
