Velvet Evil Makes Me Shout, "Hail Satin!"
Bought a bomber of Velvet Evil at Bandito Southside and poured it some into two glasses. It came out really dark without any head or lacing.
It smelled of chocolate and raspberry. The smells were more like you get from smelling a cake or pastry with those ingredients than it does the artificial or syrup versions of chocolate and raspberry. I didn't really smell any coffee.
The coffee made itself known upon tasting, where it joined the chocolate and raspberry.
Velvet Evil feels medium bodied with some carbonation, but a smooth feel above all else.
Sure, this fits more into the dessert beer category, but it isn't delicate or wimpy. I could see Sam Elliot drinking this.

Straight To Ale’s Velvet Evil pours a deep coppery brown, almost black. Very little carbonation to this beer, so very little head. The nose is extremely complex: chocolate, coffee, fruit, and a strong alcohol sweetness. The flavor is similar. It’s extremely smooth and nutty, and the chocolate flavors are more like a quality bittersweet dark chocolate. The raspberries really add the perfect finishing touch, complimenting the heavy chocolate and coffee with a light touch. It’s a deep and rich beer, finished off with some alcohol kick. At 13% ABV, this is a sipper, to be sure.
