Sucker-face beer
Westbrook's Gose looks like seawater in my glass with no head. The smell is sweet but also a funky sourness. Taste is like sour lemon after licking salt off my hand. I may want to try this the next time I have fish tacos. On its own, I'm not particularly thrilled.
Sour Beer, Have No Fear
Westbrook Gose pours a slightly cloudy pale gold with tons of bubbly head. It has a bright, citrusy nose, with a healthy dose of saltiness. The flavor is very similar. It has a pretty tart kick to it, but it’s about as smooth of a gose I’ve ever had. The salt actually tempers everything nicely, and there’s a pleasant little spice from the coriander as well. I’m beginning to like more sour beers, thanks to Westbrook.
A good gose
Westbrook's Gose poured a hazy gold into my glass. There was a white cap of a head while I poured and for about 10 seconds after that.
Citrus and salt are what I smell, but the lemon comes out stronger when I take a drink. The salt is there but not as strong as I recall it being previously. I think I'm tasting the coriander more. I do mostly taste salt when I lick my lips.
A good Gose but one I'm going to want to repeat, more of a safe sour option when buying.
