Very Burnt Caramel
Very dark caramel with a thin beige head which evaporated quickly.
Smells of dark caramelized sugar, some grain, and maybe some apricot-like fruit aromas.
Like the caramelized crust on a creme brule, this is some dark roasted sugar, sweeter side of molasses, along with a bit of earthiness behind that. The carbonation is light, which at times felt flat and other times gave the ale a nice smoothness to pair with the sugar sweetness.
