Ommegang Rosetta
Family is always there for you. Ommegang Brewmaster Phil Leinhart’s desire to create a soured fruit beer wasn’t a possibility at his brewery in Cooperstown. The climate and current infrastructure don’t permit it.
Translated as "Old Brown", the Oud Bruin is a Belgian variation of an Old Ale style.
Varying in color from copper to brown, the Oud Bruin style is generally aged in stainless steel barrels at a relatively warm temperature. Very little to no hop flavor or aroma, but a dark fruit sweetness along with a mild sourness. Generally brewed with darker specialty and a little roasted malt, the malt character is relatively low. Longer aged versions have a little more sourness and complexity, and sometimes old and newer Oud Bruin ales are blended.
Best served at cellar temperature, 55-57 degrees, in a beer snifter, stemmed tulip glass, or a large wine glass.

***Monk's Cafe Flemish Sour Ale is a repackaged import of Bios Vlaamse Bourgogne.*** Mildy tart sour ale. Light bodied with a lactic/sour nose and a bit of sweet and sour in the finish. Very refreshing!
La Folie Wood Aged Beer is our original wood-conditioned beer, resting in French Oak barrels between one and three years before being bottled. Peter Bouckaert came to us from Rodenbach, home of the fabled sour red.
