Flanders Oud Bruin

Translated as "Old Brown", the Oud Bruin is a Belgian variation of an Old Ale style.

Varying in color from copper to brown, the Oud Bruin style is generally aged in stainless steel barrels at a relatively warm temperature. Very little to no hop flavor or aroma, but a dark fruit sweetness along with a mild sourness. Generally brewed with darker specialty and a little roasted malt, the malt character is relatively low. Longer aged versions have a little more sourness and complexity, and sometimes old and newer Oud Bruin ales are blended.

Best served at cellar temperature, 55-57 degrees, in a beer snifter, stemmed tulip glass, or a large wine glass.
