Comments
The Wheat Ale wants no fruit.
Pours a slightly hazy pale golden yellow with about two fingers of head. Head is foamy with long retention, but lacing is pretty sparse.
Nose is crisp, with the wheat malt, notes of citrus and some subtle fruity aroma.
Taste is led by the malt, with the wheat softening the crispness and notes of citrus and subtle fruit toward the end. Very subtle bitterness in the finish, but quite low.
Moderately light body, and average carbonation.
The Goose Island Urban Wheat is an easy drinking and nicely balanced wheat ale with a little bit of depth. No extra fruit required!
312 Urban Wheat is worth buying
312 Urban Wheat Ale went into the weizen glass a light gold with a white head. Minimal head retention and lacing. Smell is wheat, citrus, and some floral notes. Taste is basically the same with a nice sweet/bitter balance. Body feels light with just enough carbonation to detect it on the tongue. Quite good. Fairly simple, but enough character to distinguish itself.
