Allagash’s tripel ale pours a beautiful pale gold color with not a whole lot of head. The smell is full of Belgian yeast and fruit; about what you’d expect from a tripel. This beer tastes a lot like it smells too, and that ain’t a bad thing at all. A little boozy, a little fruity, with a strong yeast presence. This is a pleasant beer, and a great introduction to this style for anyone unfamiliar (New Belgium’s tripel is another good choice).
