Description:
Our Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer. (Description provided by company)

An Unsurprising Partnership
Pours a slightly cloudy golden yellow with a full finger or so of an off white head.
Not surprisingly, lots of citrus and grapefruit in the aroma, along with a subtle pine resin and a crisp, pale malt. A nice bit of a grapefruit sweetness, which nicely tempers some of the citrus and pine flavors. A medium aftertaste which brings out some of the piney and resin flavors.
The grapefruit gives a touch of sweetness and balance, and making the Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin a great beer for warmer weather for those who like a bit of hoppiness but don't want to be overwhelmed.
