Brother Joseph with Blood Oranges
Straight to Ale's Blood Brother was served in a 10oz glass in the StA taproom with a whisp of film on top.
I get a nice blend of citrus/orange and dark fruits when I smell. It reminds me of many quads I have, but the citrus brightens and lightens this more than the quads.
Taste is stronger on the blood orange with the plum rounding out the flavor. A bit on the syrupy sweet side.
Fairly light-bodied, but the flavor is dense enough that I was more inclined to sip than gulp. Orange lingers nicely in the aftertaste.
I love Brother Joseph and like this variation. I'm not certain how often I would reach for Blood Brother over Brother Joe, though. Probably not more than a couple of times a year.
