Dark brown in color, this monster smells of coffee and chocolate. The taste is much of the same, with hints of creamy toffee and roasted malt. Smooth and delicious, this medium bodied ale is all about the malts, but has enough hop bitterness to be balanced. (Description provided by company)

Amazing Stout!
OMG is this stout delicious!
I poured it out of the can to see the nearly-black liquid topped with an off-white, two-finger, delicate head that slowly receded to a ring that stuck around the whole time. Nicely laced the glass while drinking. Smells of ROAST - malt and coffee - along with chocolate and a bit of woodiness. Things are basically the same when it comes to taste except there is a streak of cream in there, too. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied.
I am really impressed with Buried Hatchet Stout. I don't recall seeing it at my beer store of choice until this past week. I MUST let them know to keep it in stock. I may make this a regular purchase.
Superb Stout
Southern Star's Buried Hatchet is dark caramel with a gorgeous, beige, creamy head. It is sticking around, leaving nice lacing on the tulip glass. Coffee, milk chocolate, and cream fill my nose. The taste is mellow sweetness, with hardly any malt bitterness. This is a very enjoyable stout which has leans slightly sweet, but not too far. I really need to put a six pack in my garage fridge.
