The label doesn't lie.
The Chocolate Stout pours an opaque dark brown to black with about two fingers of a bubbly, light tan head. The head has excellent retention (lasted for about half the beer!) and lacing.
The nose is heavy on the chocolate and roasted coffee aromas, although there is also subtle nutty and sweet aromas as well. Taste is well balanced, with the sweetness of the chocolate and crispness of the malt balancing the roasted coffee and hoppy bitterness. Fairly dry finish, with a short lived aftertaste
The beer has a moderate body in the mouth. Carbonation maybe a bit high - it does add a bit of crispness, though.
If you like chocolate stouts and/or coffee, this is a good beer - it is a little bit one-note, but that is not a bad note.
