Description:

Aprihop is an American IPA brewed with Pilsner and Crystal malts. It's massively hopped -- in the continuous fashion, of course! -- and the flavor is complemented by the addition of apricot juice.
After fermentation, the beer is dry hopped with irresponsible amounts of Amarillo hops. The beer has a hoppy aroma, with the apricot playing a supporting role.
The flavor is rich with late hop notes, and its bitterness is tempered by just the right amount of malt sweetness and fruity undertones from the apricot.
This is one of our most popular seasonal beers and we've been brewing it each spring for quite a while now. We release the beer each March, and you should find it on the shelves through May. (Description provided by company)

Dogfish Head’s Aprihop is an IPA brewed with apricot juice. It pours a translucent amber color that’s quite beautiful. The nose is hop-forward, with just a hint of the apricot cutting through. The flavor is similar- the hops are the star here, with the apricot juice barely there on the finish. Which is not to say the finish isn’t still bitter. This is an IPA, after all. The apricot is just kind of there to lend a bit of a flavor boost. It doesn’t sweeten the beer at all. And that’s a good thing. Nearly every beer I’ve tried that is brewed with some kind of fruit winds up being an overly sweet mess. Dogfish Head has used some restraint here.

Clear golden amber, with a thin light tan head.

Strong American IPA hop aromas, citrus, pine, along with a light and bready malt and a subtle dark fruitiness.

Taste is well balanced, with the apricot adding a nice dark sweetness which helps temper the bright and bitter hop flavors. A lingering aftertaste.

A medium and crisp carbonation.

I'm not really an apricot fan, but this is still a good bear - don't let a dislike of apricots keep you away!
