Pours a pitch black with a thin head. Little lacing.

Nose is malty and smokey, with roasted and light burnt malt aromas dominating. Light and earthy English-style hops as well.

Taste is similar, with the nutty, chocolate, and coffee like flavors strong. The smoked malts add a nice slightly smokey character that helps balance the burnt malt flavors. Hops aren't as obvious as in the nose, but they are slightly spicy and floral. Low bitterness and a pretty quick and dry aftertaste.

Medium light body and moderate carbonation

The smoked malts add a very nice slightly bright character to the darker roasted malts. Very drinkable and a nice depth of flavor. If you like porters, this one will be a treat!
