Evil Twin Yin is an imperial Taiji stout (whatever Taiji is) that pours a thick dark black with a rich chocolatey-looking head. It smells sweet, with lots of malt and chocolate. The flavor is bold and strong, with a nice toasted flavor happening. The alcohol is masked well. This beer is a little dangerous because of it, but boy is it tasty.

Pours a pitch black with a light chocolate brown head. Long head retention and very attractive lacing. Some noticeable alcohol legs.

Dark chocolate, deep roasted notes, and some light and almost fruity alcohol aromas. Strong at first, but dig a little deeper and it's complex and layered.

Taste is similarly strong but nuanced. Dark roasted malt flavors are dominant - think 80%+ dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee, and a hint of toffee. The ethanol isn't quite as well hidden as it is in the nose, and unfortunately masks some of the other flavors. It does, however, help to keep the aftertaste from being overly long or bitter. Although bitter, for an imperial stout with a 10% ABV, it's quite drinkable.

A fairly full body and moderate carbonation.

Strong, but flavorful. If you like strong beers (especially strong stouts), this is a nice strong beer for cold winter nights by the fire. Unlike many high ABV beers, this isn't just strong for the sake of being strong, but it's a (mostly) well balanced example of an Imperial stout.
