I wanted a beer for dessert and reached into the cooler for Fort Collins Brewery's Chocolate Stout. The beer poured into the glass very dark with a think tan soap bubble head that quickly dissolved. I smell roasted coffee malt and a bit of earthy hops...but no chocolate. The taste is earthy hops and coffee...but no chocolate. I think I get a bit of chocolate in the aftertaste...but not sure. The stout feels really good with a smooth medium body and mild carbonation.

If "chocolate" wasn't on the label, I'd have a better opinion. But I was disappointed to not smell or taste chocolate, so that does affect the score for smell and taste. Had it not been called a chocolate stout, I'd score it a 4 in taste and overall.
