Authentic Hefe?
Pours a cloudy pale gold with a finger of smooth and bubbly head. Head dissipates very quickly, but leaves some nice lacing.
Nose is very dedicate and subtle, with wheat malt and a slight citrus aroma. A hint of some ester fruitiness as well.
Taste is largely similar to the nose, but the fruity flavors are more obvious and the bitterness is practically nonexistent. Slightly earthy hop flavor as well. Very dry and quick aftertaste.
A medium light body and relatively low carbonation.
This Weißbier is a nice change of pace from the typical American offering, and certainly stands on its own without any extra fruity additions. Not a typical flavor profile for those who like typical American hoppy beers, this one is a nice refreshing change of pace for summer.
