Description:

Did you also at some point in your life get seduced by promising words like ‘probably (not) the best in the world’, ‘it (doesn’t really) work every time’ etc. This American Barley Wine says it how it is. It’s intense, attention seekingly hoppy and definitely your kind of beer. A beer with a big ego, drive and a huge thirst for recognition. (Description provided by company)

Pours a deep reddish amber with a thin head. Strong lacing.

Nose is sweet, fruity, and slightly hoppy. Lightly roasted malt, some grape, other fruit and citrus are present.

Taste is an interesting mix between the sweet fruit, moderate roasted malt, and slightly bitter pine and citrus hops.

Fairly light body and moderate carbonation.

A lot of flavors are going on in this beer, but somehow it seems to work together. It is relatively strong in alchohol, but it is well hidden by the assertive flavors going on.

Evil Twin's Freudian Slip is an American barley wine ale. It pours a hazy amber color with a dark frothy head. The smell is all hops, bright and crisp and delicious. The flavor is a nice blend of hops and malt, not nearly as hop-forward as the smell implies. Well-balanced, it has just the right amount of body.

A really strong beer. And at 10.3% ABV, I mean that in more ways than one.
