Description:

If poplar is good enough for the Mona Lisa, we figured it'd make a pretty good canvas for Goodwood Pale Ale. Aged on poplar and brewed with American hop varietals, this floral, hoppy masterpiece finishes with a pleasingly sweet, malty backbone that's sure to attract "poplar demand." Pours out a clear, reddish amber with a thin film of a quickly dissipating head.

Nose is full of sweet caramel malts and some citrus and herbal hop aromas.

Taste is well balanced. The malt flavors are fairly clean and subtly sweet, while the citrus and herbal hops provide a moderately low amount of bitterness before the finish. There is a subtle herbal aftertaste, but it's not overly distracting or obtrusive.

A medium body and carbonation.

A bit maltier than I expected a pale ale to be,Goodwood's Pale Ale is nicely balanced and quite tasty.
