Dark and Rich
A dark ruby to blood red with a finger very light tan head.
Lots of rich dark fruit aromas, with a little bit of an alcohol brightness. Some caramel malt aromas give an inviting sweetness. Rich and fruity also describes the taste of this beer, with a bit of some dark chocolate bitterness toward the finish. Lots of apricot and raisin and the finish is also a bit long and highlights (without going overboard) some of the alcohol flavors. A nice full body as well.
A good dark, rich, and almost like a slightly lighter Barleywine, to keep you warm during those cold winter nights!
