No light penetrates the Espresso Stout in my pint glass. There is a thick, tan, foamy head that is slowly shrinking; not much lacing though. Coffee and rich, dark chocolate dominate the aroma with the taste being mostly strong dark coffee with bitter dark chocolate. Hitachino Nest has brewed a very pronounced malt bitterness into this imperial stout. It also has a thick, luscious body that caresses the tongue.
While the drinking experience lightens the blow of the higher cost, this is an indulgent treat, IMO.

If you love RIS's, this may be worth the higher price
