This is my first Innis & Gunn beer. It poured out a dark brown with a small off-white head. Smell was vanilla, bourbon, and coffee. The taste was very much the same as the nose but with a buttery finish. But, where other bourbon-barrel beers I've had kinda hit me with the bourbon notes, there is a smoothness to the flavor - there is a buttery aspect that soothes you into and through the bourbon flavor and allows you to savor the other flavors. Feels moderately bodied with mild carbonation. Very pleasant...and that's coming from someone who isn't a fan of bourbon or whiskey.
