Description:

Jockamo has a flavor that entices and excites the palate. The intense hop character adds more spice to the meal and makes it a perfect choice to team up with many spicy dishes. Cheddar and strong farmer cheeses stand up well to Jockamo’s hoppy character. Jockamo goes well with wild game, grilled meats and Thai or Mexican cuisine. (Description provided by company)

Pours a translucent copper, with half finger of head that dissipates very quickly.

Citrus and pine resin hop aromas are prevalent in the nose, and a bready, toasty malt as well.

Flavors emphasize the hops (no surprise), but the bitterness is moderate and not too overpowering. Pine and floral hop flavors are strongest, and the malt is caramel, biscuity and very nicely balanced against the hop bitterness. A quick and fairly dry aftertaste.

Medium body and moderate carbonation.

For an IPA, the Abita has strong flavors and less bitterness and more balance than the usual examples. Very drinkable, easily sessionable, and a nicely balanced IPA.
