Kalamazoo Stout represents stouts in the Bell's year-round roster, offering a blend of dark chocolate and coffee flavors with just a hint of brewer's licorice. One of our oldest recipes, it balances a significant hop presence against the roast malt body. (Description provided by company)

Comments
Tasty Stout!
Pours pitch black, with a moderate tan head. Good retention and nice lacing.
Nose is strong on roasted and light burnt malt aromas. Coffee, light smoke, licorice, some dark chocolate and dark fruits as well.
Taste has similar flavors, although the roasted malts are well balanced enough to not be overpowering or too bitter. A moderately long aftertaste with some light caramel malt sweetness and smoke.
Medium body and carbonation. Smooth in the mouth, but not too full.
Nicely balanced, Bell's Kalamazoo Stout is very nicely balanced and a very easy drinking and flavorful beer. I nice intro from Porters and Brown ales into things a little darker.
